Upon arrival in the country, all foreign visitors must pass through the necessary and essential procedures of Vietnam customs.\r\n

Vietnam customs

\r\nFirst of all, you must have your passport, which is a very important identity document. Then, you need to request a visa to enter Vietnam, unless you are a citizen of countries that are entitled to benefit from a visa exemption established by the Vietnamese Government (ASEAN countries, some European countries).\r\n

CUSTOMS FORMALITIES

\r\n

All visitors, whether entering or leaving by any means, are invited to make declarations and present their luggage to customs officers in Vietnam. By air, formalities are generally faster than by land or sea routes.

\r\n

Upon your arrival at customs, you are given a declaration form to fill out. After checking and filling in numbers 1 to 16, you show it to customs agents or immigration officers.

\r\n

It should be noted that luggage and clothing, personal effects and goods brought into Vietnam are individual property, which does not form part of the group of goods not imported, non-commercial, and exempt from taxes.\r\n\r\n

To expedite customs formalities, you must declare correctly:

\r\n

– Foreign currency, cash of value exceeding 7,000 USD or other currencies of equivalent value.

\r\n

– Cameras, recording devices and other electronic tools that are not personal devices.

\r\n

– Jewelry (particularly gold), precious stones not belonging to private goods.

\r\n

– Gold (more than 300gr). If more than 3,000gr, the excess amount will be retained and re-exported.

\r\n

– Goods outside duty-free baggage.

\r\n

Upon entry, travelers can bring a certain amount of foreign currency, gold, silver and precious stones but must declare in detail. Furthermore, they benefit from tax exemption on: 50 cigars or 150gr of tobacco; 20 cigarettes; 1.5 liters of wine or other non-prohibited beverages with a total value not exceeding 300 USD. It is prohibited to bring into Vietnam: weapons; explosive and easily flammable objects; opium and drugs; toxic chemical products; any type of firecracker; pornographic products – those not conforming to Vietnam customs and traditions; games for children with bad influences on moral development, with negative consequences on social security…

\r\n

When leaving Vietnam, travelers’ luggage will be declared. If the amount of gold exceeds 300gr, it is mandatory to make a declaration and obtain permission from the State Bank so that they can leave Vietnam. It is not allowed to leave Vietnam with weapons, explosive products, drugs, wild animals, precious plants, and documents concerning national security.

\r\n

In the event of non-compliance with customs regulations for entry and exit, travelers will certainly be punished according to Vietnam law.

Have a good trip to Vietnam!
