Chapter 4 (August 1–4, 2025) – Horizon Vietnam Alongside Hematology Hospital Patients

Table of contents

At Horizon Vietnam, we move forward with the idea that every small gesture counts. It is not always necessary to do great things to help. Being present, extending a hand, offering a little sweetness… can be enough to warm a heart and bring comfort. It is with this spirit that we carry out our solidarity actions, with regularity and sincerity, month after month.

At the beginning of August 2025, we returned to Hanoi Central Hematology Hospital. This hospital welcomes patients with serious illnesses every day. Many of them have been hospitalized for a long time. They live far from their families, in weariness, in waiting and sometimes in loneliness. As with every visit, we wanted to bring them a little support, in our own way.

For this action, we chose to offer longans, a typically Vietnamese fruit, harvested in summer. These small round fruits with thin skin contain sweet-smelling pulp. Much appreciated during the hot season, they bring both freshness and energy. The longans we distributed came from Mai Chau, a mountainous region in northern Vietnam. There, families practice seasonal agriculture, respectful of natural rhythms and without the use of chemical products.

By choosing these fruits, we wanted not only to offer sweetness to the patients, but also to support small local producers. This solidary approach thus made it possible to create a link between two worlds: that of farmers who work the land with care, and that of the sick who need a little human warmth.

The distribution took place in two moments, on August 1st and 4th, 2025. At each visit, we delivered to the patients a small package composed of fresh longans and a pack of milk. This simple gesture, made with care, brought about many smiles, touching looks and exchanges full of emotion. For us, these moments are precious. They remind us that sometimes little is needed to do good.

Despite their very young age, these children face each day with courage a serious and challenging disease

This action is not an isolated event. For several years we have been returning regularly to this hospital. We believe in discreet but consistent solidarity, based on presence and loyalty. Through each fruit offered, each word exchanged, it is also a message we wish to convey: that of a solidary, warm and deeply human Vietnam.
