Horizon Vietnam Alongside Nghe An Residents After Typhoon Wipha (August 2–3, 2025)
Table of contents
On August 2 and 3, 2025, following the passage of Typhoon Wipha and the severe flooding that hit the west of Nghe An province, Horizon Vietnam and its humanitarian partners organized an emergency humanitarian mission.
In a remarkable show of solidarity, nearly 20 tons of essential goods (500 relief kits) were collected and sent to the affected areas, along with cash financial assistance, to help the residents severely affected by this natural disaster.

Typhoon Wipha (Storm No. 3), which occurred at the end of July 2025, caused prolonged heavy rains in northern and central Vietnam. Among the hardest-hit regions is the mountainous province of Nghe An, particularly the districts of Con Cuong, Tuong Duong and Ky Son. These areas suffered flash floods, landslides and severe flooding, causing considerable material damage.
Hundreds of homes were submerged or damaged, many roads were cut off and several villages found themselves completely isolated. Residents, deprived of food, drinking water, medicines and essential goods, faced an emergency situation.
Faced with this critical situation, Horizon Vietnam mobilized immediately, along with many volunteers. In a few days, nearly 20 tons of essential goods were collected, sorted and carefully packaged… everything that could help families get through this difficult period.
On the evening of August 1st, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., all participants worked tirelessly to load the packages onto container trucks, so that deliveries could leave for Con Cuong already that night. Despite fatigue, heat and the weight of the loads, the atmosphere remained joyful and motivated, sustained by a shared conviction: “Leave no one behind”.

In parallel with material donations, Horizon Vietnam and its donors also collected a sum of money intended to be distributed directly to the families most severely affected, particularly in the most isolated areas.
This targeted financial assistance aims to supplement food assistance, ensure access to medical care, repair damaged homes and allow children to return to school after the flood.
Every package delivered is not simply a material gift. It represents an extended hand, an open heart and the coming together of many people – businesses, associations, citizens – committed together to the same chain of solidarity. In difficult times, these collective impulses revive human warmth and strengthen the bond between communities. At Horizon Vietnam, we do not consider this mission as a simple one-off action. It reflects a deep vision that we have always carried forward: “Giving is receiving”.
