On July 26, 2025, Horizon Vietnam Shows Solidarity in Thung Mai: School Supplies for a Better Future

Our travelers’ luggage made a difference for children in Vietnam

In May 2025, Horizon Vietnam launched the campaign “Your Luggage, the Future of Vietnamese Children,” inviting travelers to bring school supplies for disadvantaged children. On July 26, 2025, thanks to everyone’s generosity, the first solidarity action took place in Thung Mai village, in Hang Kia Commune, Mai Chau District, Hoa Binh Province.

That day, the Horizon Vietnam team delivered with great emotion backpacks, notebooks, rulers, pens, and other school supplies to one hundred twenty students from primary and lower secondary school. Each kit was completed so that every child had everything needed to start the new school year off right.

Over 120 smiles gathered to receive a little joy as a gift

Sometimes shy, the children showed big smiles as they received their gifts. Their sincere joy and luminous eyes expressed all their gratitude.

To add a festive touch, each student received a snack made up of fried chicken thigh, a sausage, and a soft drink. For many children it was the first time tasting these flavors. Surprise and pleasure were visible on their faces and some didn’t even dare believe that this feast was meant for them. This convivial moment brightened all the faces and brought great joy to the village, transforming this day into a true happy memory for everyone.

Furthermore, we also extended our support to the most struggling families. Over fifty packages, containing essential products such as hygiene items, clothes, or blankets, were distributed directly to the most disadvantaged families. This assistance aims to ease their daily lives and offer them a bit of comfort.

That day in Thung Mai was above all a beautiful moment of solidarity and sharing. Thanks to everyone’s participation, the children regained their smiles and felt more eager to go to school in good conditions.
