Horizon Vietnam Travel Supports Ban Cam Kindergarten After Typhoon Yagi

Typhoon Yagi, which recently struck, caused severe damage in the mountainous regions of Bac Kan province, particularly to the kindergarten in the village of Ban Cam, located in Nam Mau commune, Ba Be district. This natural disaster seriously damaged local infrastructure, making it very difficult to welcome and teach young children.

Indeed, violent winds and heavy rains severely damaged several buildings of the school. The roof of the classrooms was torn off, the rooms were flooded, and teaching equipment, such as furniture and toys, were destroyed. This left the institution in a critical situation.

These difficulties particularly affect the children, most of whom come from families belonging to ethnic minorities already in precarious conditions. The lack of adequate educational material thus has a direct impact on the quality of their education and their well-being.

Faced with this emergency, Horizon Vietnam Travel responded quickly by organizing a charitable mission to provide concrete assistance to the children and contribute to the repair of the school. The donated items were carefully selected to respond to the immediate needs of the children and facilitate a return to normalcy.

There is only one way to transport items to school – by sampan

However, access to this school is difficult due to its geographic location in an isolated mountainous area. The only way to reach it is by crossing Lake Ba Be in a sampan. This lake, in addition to being known for its natural beauty, is the only route to reach distant villages. The crossing provided the humanitarian team with a unique experience, symbolic of the efforts needed to bring aid to the most vulnerable communities.

Residents used scooters to help us transport goods from the boat to school
